At the end of the talks, it was agreed that all the conditions are currently met for Lemerre to take over as the new coach beginning July 1, 2008

Morocco's soccer team Wydad Casablanca on Monday secured a place in the Arab Champions League semis after a scoreless draw before Egypt's Talaie Al-Gueich. The Reds did not take any offensive risks and got back to build a very solid defense and launch counter-attacks. Thanks to this performance, Wydad Casablanca have maintained the pole position with ten points (three victories, a draw and a defeat), ahead of Syria's At-Taliaa (7 points), which had, earlier in the day, bested Algeria's USM Algiers 1-0.
